From the Heart is a space for the reflections of our staff on issues that matter to them, to our network, and most importantly, to those we walk alongside.
This month, our CEO Daniel Lussier reflects on the year that’s been and the year ahead.
As we approach our fiscal year-end here at Réseau Compassion Network, there are many things to reflect upon and celebrate as the leaves find their full form and the warm weather of summer arrives.
We continue to be in awe of all that happens within our network, and so very appreciative of all the people who work in our organisations, day-in and day-out, to ensure that our communities have a place to turn in their time of need. The compassionate care offered by those working in every role across the network makes all the difference to those we support, and we are truly grateful for each and every person who brings their gifts to work every day.
Through our newsletters this year, you’ve no doubt gotten a glimpse of these gifts in action: innovative programs, new certifications, staff going above and beyond, organisations pivoting to meet the needs of their clientele. These are the stories that remind us of all the good around us and all the progress we are making together.
We also can’t help but start to look forward to all that is to come. We are excited about sharing our revised strategic plan at our annual gathering with network organizations that focuses on widening our mission activities to see how we can play a role in attempting to address the many needs in our community. We feel a great sense of optimism that our network can truly make a difference in certain areas.
We’re exploring the future of aging, the challenges faced by newcomer populations, along with the complex needs of those experiencing mental health or substance abuse issues, those struggling to find appropriate, affordable housing, and those experiencing loneliness.
We know we have the right people with the right expertise and just as importantly, the right heart, to explore what else may be calling us in these areas. Time and time again, our network demonstrates a continued commitment to creative, bold, and innovative solutions. We look forward to our continued work together and to play our part at Réseau Compassion Network to cultivate new approaches and to nurture our collective ability to respond.
