Beyond Limits presents: Carol Gray: Reflect – Reboot – Reimagine

Online Social Stories™ 10.2 Advanced Workshop

About this Event

Social Stories are one of the most popular evidence-based instructional strategies for learners with autism in the world. They are also frequently misused and misunderstood. Learning how to research, develop, and implement a genuine Social Story is critical to their effectiveness, safety, and integrity. The goal is to build positive social concepts and skills in an individually tailored, unassuming, and supportive learning context.

This online presentation is unique among *Social Story 10.2* workshops, a series of four half-days devoted to the art and science of Social Stories!

  • Tuesday, October 20 – 9:00am – 12:00pm CDT
  • Tuesday, October 27 – 9:00am – 12:00pm CDT
  • Tuesday, November 3 – 9:00am – 12:00pm CST
  • Tuesday, November 10 – 9:00am – 12:00pm CST

To receive your certificate of completion you must attend all four sessions.

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, online learning opportunities are increasing in popularity – with surprising advantages over in-person conferences. Safety is one advantage. Other benefits include increased efficiency and new opportunities to internalize concepts and practice skills. Online presentations often cover information faster than their traditional counterparts, resulting in additional case examples, demonstrations, and activities.

This hybrid Social Story workshop is a unique opportunity. Participants will learn the art and science of Social Stories with a format that maximizes online training benefits, including:

• An invitation to confidentially contact Carol before, during, or following the course of the training with questions or assistance related to a specific Social Story or course content, materials, activities, and assignments,
• Pre-workshop orientation – a brief set of materials and activities providing an overview of Social Stories, and
• Relevant assignments between sessions to apply newly acquired concepts and skills to current issues.
